Smart City Project Signing Ceremony in Brunei.

As part of SmartJAMP, a smart city support program sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), we are working on a project with the Brunei government (Ministry of Transport and Communications = MTIC).

This program is implemented by a Japanese company in response to a request for support from a city participating in the ASEAN Smart City Network. Bandar Seri Begawan has been requested to promote the digitalization of buses, a public transportation service, and MLIT has entrusted us as the representative company to implement this program. (Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. and Transportation Research Institute Company Ltd. as joint venturers, and Smart Shield International Ltd. is participating in the project as a local partner.

The main objective of this year’s project is to conduct a pilot project utilizing SMOC, our operation management system for buses, to obtain operation data and feedback from users in order to gain a deeper and more practical understanding of the needs in Brunei for a full-scale introduction in the future.

To launch the pilot project, an MOU signing ceremony with a local bus company was held on Saturday, December 3, in the presence of MTIC. This event was covered by local TV and newspapers in Brunei.
