We have launched the car-sharing Zenmov e-drive service

Starting at UNPLAN Village Hakuba in the Hakuba Area of Nagano Prefecture

We are currently conducting a test service of our car-sharing "Zenmov e-drive" at the hostel "UNPLAN Village Hakuba" (https://unplan.jp/hakuba) located in the Hakuba mountain foothills area of Nagano Prefecture (the period is scheduled until the end of October this year). UNPLAN Village is a mountain resort located at Tsugaike Kogen, where guests can enjoy trekking in spring and summer, and winter sports in winter.

Features: Complete the process from reservation to return with your smartphone

Many people might rent a car while traveling. You arrive at your destination, go to the car rental shop, complete the procedures... and during peak seasons, the shop can be crowded. With a limited schedule, it can be a struggle when procedures take time, and you have to wait at the shop.

Zenmov e-drive allows you to complete everything from car reservation to payment, boarding, and return entirely through your smartphone, without the need to do any procedures at the store. You might wonder, "Only with a smartphone? How do I receive the key?"

Key collection and return at Keycafe

To collect the key, you will perform the operation of "Collecting key at Keycafe" on your smartphone after reserving the car. Keycafe is a system that allows for 24-hour unattended key management (collection/return), and a box is set up in the lounge of UNPLAN Village. You can issue an access code on your smartphone, and after entering it into the box containing the key, you can collect the key. When returning, you also enter the access code, put the key in the box, and lock it (Figure 2).

Thus, you can do car-sharing anytime you want on your smartphone, which involves ① reserving a car, ② collecting the key at Keycafe, ③ boarding, ④ returning the car, ⑤ returning the key at Keycafe, ⑥ completion of return... This is the feature and convenience of Zenmov e-drive (please refer to the video for detailed steps. I tried using Keycafe).

Moreover, the vehicle available for reservation is the BMW EV i3. It is also recommended for those who want to try driving an EV (Figure 3).
