Announcement: The Establishment of Current Mobility Co., Ltd.
We are pleased to announce the establishment of Current Mobility Co., Ltd. as a new company specializing in island and community-based tourism mobility businesses, leveraging the experience and insights in the mobility business cultivated at Zenmov.
[Current Mobility Website]
Japan is an island nation with 6,852 islands, including 302 designated remote islands. The Setouchi area alone sees an annual accommodation demand of over 40 million stays, and there are countless similar island regions worldwide.
We believe that refining a sustainable tourism mobility business model on Japan’s remote islands is of great significance—not only for contributing to the local economy but also for its potential for future expansion both domestically and internationally.
While there is high demand for regional and remote island tourism, the reality in many areas is that "transportation," "reservations," "information," and "purchasing" are not adequately connected. This fragmentation often prevents visitor opportunities from translating into local consumption and long-term relationship building.
Current Mobility was established to bridge these fragmented touchpoints, transforming island mobility itself into an experiential value while creating a system where the local economy can circulate and thrive.
Starting with the Setouchi area, we will proceed to build a tourism mobility hub that comprehensively integrates "transportation, reservations, merchandise sales, and fostering a deeply connected community." Through this, we aim to update Japan’s attractive tourist destinations into a format suited for the next generation.
Unlike Zenmov’s existing IT and operational support business, which empowers the mobility operations of other companies, this new venture requires our people to be on the ground, deeply rooting themselves in the local community to nurture the business. Therefore, to clarify the execution structure, we are advancing this initiative as a completely separate entity.
Regarding the Direct Public Offering (DPO)
To realize this vision with speed, Current Mobility has decided to raise funds by issuing shares through a Direct Public Offering (DPO). A DPO is a fundraising method where a company offers shares directly to investors without going through a brokerage firm. It is an optimal method for growth-oriented SMEs seeking to attract shareholders who share our business philosophy and direction, and who will accompany us on a long-term basis. Cases of DPO are rapidly increasing in Japan recently.
Under the guidance of specialized certified public accountants and in accordance with the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, we have submitted a securities notice to the Kanto Local Finance Bureau to issue "Preferred Shares" up to a maximum of 99 million JPY. While these shares do not carry voting rights, they offer a preferred dividend totaling 20% of the net income when the company generates a profit.
