Introduction of the First Autonomous EV Bus in the Philippines with GAUSSIN MACNICA MOBILITY
GAUSSIN MACNICA MOBILITY, a leading company in autonomous EV buses, and Zenmov Inc., a Japanese company strong in advanced Mobility as a Service (MaaS), announced that they will jointly deploy the first autonomous EV bus in the Philippines. GAUSSIN MACNICA MOBILITY will provide Zenmov with autonomous vehicles, which will then be used by Zenmov to implement its own public transport vehicle management system in smart city projects in the Philippines.
Zenmov operates in the MaaS business field. We are dedicated to building a transportation network that allows users to travel safely by ensuring smooth connections and optimizations of public transportation in areas where public transport infrastructure is insufficient.
GAUSSIN MACNICA MOBILITY is developing autonomous and zero-emission mobility solutions for the transport of people and goods, offering optimal solutions for short and medium-distance travel, such as the autonomous EV buses "ARMA" and "EVO", and the EV bus "BlueBus 6m" co-developed with the Bolloré Group. Additionally, they provide support programs for the implementation and operation of autonomous driving, comprehensively assisting in the practical use of autonomous driving.
Project to Lead Sustainable Mobility Development in the Philippines
This project, implemented in Luzon, Philippines, is the first introduction of autonomous vehicles in the country, aimed at reducing environmental impact and traffic congestion while contributing to the long-term development of related fields.
Specifically, they will introduce a new public transportation service called "Primary Rapid Transit (PRT)" that is highly convenient and energy efficient for last-mile connectivity. The core of this service is Zenmov's cloud-based traffic management system, "Smart Mobility Operation Cloud (SMOC)".
Zenmov's cloud-based traffic management system SMOC maximizes operational efficiency while minimizing the number of vehicles in operation through features for driver/passenger/administrator apps and server-side functionalities. This system can be used not only for public transport like buses but also for private use like hire cars and on-demand taxis.
On May 30, 2023, Zenmov visited France and announced cooperation with Gaussin-Macnica-Mobility for the project in the Philippines. The operation of autonomous vehicles in the Philippines is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. Currently, stakeholders are in discussions and preparations to deploy clean and safe services in the smart cities of the Philippines.
