As part of the SmartJAMP program, which is hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), we are advancing a project with the Brunei government (Ministry of Transport and Communications = MTIC). This program is being carried out by Japanese companies in response to requests for support from cities participating in the ASEAN Smart City Network. Bandar Seri Begawan has requested the promotion of the digitalization of public transport services, specifically buses, and we are being commissioned as the representative company by MLIT (with Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd. and the Institute of Transport Economics as joint partners, and Smart Shield International Co., Ltd. participating as a local cooperation company in this project). This year, we are conducting a pilot project utilizing our bus operation management system, SMOC, with the goal of obtaining operational data and feedback from users, which will help us gain a deeper and more practical understanding of the needs in Brunei for future full-scale implementation. Upon starting the pilot project, a signing ceremony for the MOU with the local bus company was held on December 3rd (Saturday) in the presence of MTIC. This event was covered by local television and newspapers in Brunei.
